CulTech +1 Culture & Technology Co-Creation Competition
The first-ever "CulTech +1 Culture & Technology Co-Creation Competition," featuring a total prize pool of 1.8 million NTD, is now open for submissions. This unique competition combines cultural venue revitalization with technology applications, inviting innovative startups to participate.
Under the auspices by Ministry of Digital Affairs , Administration of Digital Industries moda and the Chiayi County Government, and organized by the Chiayi County Cultural and Tourism Bureau and the Culture & Tech Development Association, the competition is managed by the Chiayi Culture and Technology Innovation Hub and the Chiayi Culture and Technology Industry Alliance.
The competition is divided into two main categories:
Cultural Venues: Focuses on using technology to revitalize historical venues and tell cultural stories.
Corporate Applications: Emphasizes creativity and evidence-based solutions to meet corporates needs.
Both categories aim to integrate technology and culture to cultivate interdisciplinary talent in Taiwan.
Cultural Venues Category
Participants will address challenges related to four culturally significant sites:
Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum
PeiGuiTang in Xingang
Wanguo Theater in Dalin
Taiwan Sugar Corporation Cultural Park and its nostalgia sugar railway carts.
Teams are encouraged to use new technology to enhance these cultural sites. The competition includes preliminary and final rounds, with each site selecting a winning team that will receive a 200,000 NTD prize, public recognition, and further support from the organizers.
Corporate Applications Category
Numerous companies will propose challenges focused on creative and practical cultural technology applications. Teams are encouraged to develop innovative solutions that meet these corporate needs. Companies will award prizes ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 NTD for the best proposals, with opportunities for collaboration or integration into their corporate structures.
The organizers emphasize that the essence of this competition is to prioritize culture, with technology as a support. Proposals should focus on using technology to uncover deeper cultural insights and create diverse experiential values. The competition seeks to blend site-specific value and creativity, creating new narratives for local culture and corporate needs.
